For nearly a decade our laboratory services have specialised in providing professional, accurate and conclusive results for an unrivalled range of accredited DNA and Toxicological analysis.

Under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969, in civil proceedings, courts have a statutory power to direct a scientific test to ascertain the parentage of a child (but section 20 directions are not given in every case where parentage is an issue). If the court makes such a 'section 20 direction', they must choose a tester from a list of accredited bodies. Our DNA laboratory services has been accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under Section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969.

Utilising state of the art facilities our scientific specialists are on hand and able to help with any enquiries, ranging from an individual wanting to determine the paternity of their child, to complex DNA analysis and result interpretation for legal proceedings.

Two different forms of DNA test are offered — peace of mind DNA tests and legal DNA tests. The two types of DNA test are differentiated by the use to which the results of the DNA analysis will be put and, therefore, the evidence of identity and level of supervision, analysis and record keeping that is required during the DNA sampling and analysis process.

Which DNA Test to Choose

When making your decision about which form of paternity test to choose, please consider what would happen if the test results either confirm or deny paternity.
