ScreenSafe UK is able to provide expert testimony from world leaders in their fields, in all aspects of toxicology. The service can be utilised not only to provide an interpretation of results obtained from testing commissioned through ScreenSafe UK but also to assess the defensibility of analysis undertaken by other laboratories (something we have a successful track record with).

Our Expert Witness service can be provided in a number of ways, but most commonly as:

  • A full written report and statement for use as evidence in court or investigations etc
  • In person via appearance in court or as part of investigations etc.

Toxicology is utilised in the investigation of a wide range of crimes including driving with excess of alcohol, driving whilst impaired through drugs, alleged drug facilitated sexual assaults and possession of drugs with intent to supply. Our World leading experts can assess if there are any aspects of the analysis that give cause for doubt in the prosecution case, whether the interpretation already provided is a balanced assessment of the evidence and advise on avenues that have not been pursued that might be of benefit to the defence.

During a High Court hearing before The Hon. Mr Justice Moylan (12/11/2010) the use of hair testing (for Alcohol) was questioned. In the case referred to, it was the interpretation of results by the experts involved that was at fault and not the analytical methods.
