Urine Point of Care
Due to being a truly independent company we are able to offer the broadest range of products available to compliment a robust and legally defensible Drug and Alcohol Policy. We listen to your needs, aims and objectives and then recommend the most effective way forward to fit in with your budget. We supply a wide range of accurate and reliable Point of Care (or "instant results") immunoassay screening devices for Urine. The TestRite™ range of urine screen tests range from single dip tests to multi-panel dip tests to multi-panel test cups.
The TestRite™ are the easiest, fastest, most accurate, reliable and consistent screening devices for urine available.
ScreenSafe UK's TestRite™ drug screen device is a rapid, one step screening analysis for the simultaneous, qualitative detection of multiple drugs and drug metabolites in human urine.
The TestRite™ cup's progressive design eliminates contact with urine and automatically allows the correct amount of urine onto the test strips for optimum efficiency. The test utilizes a monoclonal antibody to selectively detect elevated levels of specific drugs in urine.
The analysis is an immunoassay based on the principle of competitive binding. Drugs, which may be present in the urine specimen, compete against their respective drug conjugate for binding sites on their specific antibody. During testing, a urine specimen migrates upward by capillary action. A drug, if present in the urine specimen below its cut off concentration, will not saturate the binding sites of its specific antibody. The antibody will then react with the drug protein conjugate and a visible coloured line will show up in the test line region of the specific drug strip. The presence of drug above the cut off concentration will saturate all the binding sites of the antibody. Therefore, the coloured line will not form in the test line region. A drug positive urine specimen will not generate a coloured line in the specific test line region of the strip because of drug competition, while a drug negative urine specimen will generate a line in the test line region because of the absence of drug competition. To serve as a procedural control, a coloured line will always appear at the control line region, indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred. A temperature control strip is positioned on the outside of the device (TestRite™ cup only).
The onsite TestRite™ urine kit will enable you to screen for the widest range of drug groups with an instant result. It is a guide to any drugs that may be present in the donor and is highly accurate to laboratory screening (it should be noted that initial laboratory screening by EMIT or ELISA is not 100% accurate). If a Positive result is shown on the test, the sample is then decanted immediately and easily into the ScreenSafe UK laboratory test tube travel kits, A & B sample, to be sent to the laboratory for GCMS confirmation.
Results will then be sent to you within 3 working days from receipt at the laboratory (or less where Fast-Track service is requested). Alcohol can be screened using this kit, but is not recommended to be used for disciplinary purposes so a Home Office approved breathalyser would need to be used to record accurate and reliable results. Using an instant Point of Care device can show considerable cost savings in terms of testing costs and "downtime" waiting for initial screen results from a laboratory.
The TestRite™ kits are extensively used throughout the world by leading companies and organisations (including Police Forces) to fulfil their D&A urine screening requirements. Technical data is available on request. We would recommend that all "positives" at TestRite™ screen stage are sent for confirmation analysis using our UKAS accredited laboratory service. Confirmation results are then reported within 3 working days from receipt at the laboratory (or less where Fast-Track is requested).
