Within our range of products are some new additions which may be of interest to those in Primary Care. We have the latest products using the newest technology for instant testing and offer experienced and accredited laboratory back up where it is needed.

Our oral and urine point of care kits cover all main drugs of abuse with many different variations of testing panel for convenience and efficiency. The newer technology means clearer lines on the test strips and a flood proof membrane on the urine devices that prevents "washing out" of the test strips and helps eradicate erroneous results. This is so effective, dip tests can be fully immersed in urine whilst the tester concentrates on other things. No need to hold the dip or measure out a small quantity of urine. The point of care Oral tests offer similar technology, adapted specifically for this medium and with more sensitive cut-offs than ever before.

All of our instant kits that include Methadone now include EDDP (unless otherwise requested). This is an ideal aid for those prescribing and monitoring Methadone. The presence of EDDP demonstrates the metabolism of Methadone in the body, which can only occur after ingestion. In turn this makes an addition/adulteration of Methadone to the urine easy to spot, as the EDDP will be negative, even if the Methadone is positive. This can also help in situations where lower dose maintenance can be borderline to detect. Alcohol test strips can be added to our urine point of care drug testing kits if necessary, or ordered as singles. We supply all types of alcohol testing devices from single use/disposable kits to Home Office approved breathalysers with printers.

ScreenSafe UK are proud to introduce the first CE marked point-of-care test for the detection of Hepatitis C in the UK together with complimentary devices screening for Hepatitis B and HIV. The new cartridge devices give a screen result from a finger prick blood sample in minutes, for Hepatitis C Antibody, Hepatitis B surface Antigen, Hepatitis B surface Antibody and HIV antibody. A fast and reliable result can lead to quicker referral for further investigation, less missed follow up/phlebotomy appointments, and reduced cost and administration. As always, laboratory blood sample confirmation is recommended on all positive screens.

ScreenSafe UK also has a long established hair testing offering, for drug and alcohol detection. This may be done on behalf of other agencies, or it may be a necessary General Practice investigation on some occasions. It could also be offered to other agencies from your surgery.

DNA profiling and other laboratory services are available too, possibly for cases done on behalf of other agencies. We can offer full training in the use of all equipment and interpretation of results and are easily accessible for support and advice.

  4. Plastic syringe system for urine confirmation test providing swift and safe transfer of urine to the laboratory. Send off your original urine sample using our handy laboratory kit for further analysis (GC/LC/MS).
  5. Alcohol testing available from bottom line, single use/disposable devices, to Home Office approved Drager 6810 breathalyser with printer.
  6. Hair testing available for detection of drugs and alcohol use over a longer period of time. Looks back at a rate of approximately one month per cm of head hair, however hair can be taken from any area of the body. We can even test finger and toe nails!
  7. Other laboratory testing available including DNA profiling, testing for steroids, whole blood pathology etc.
