ScreenSafe UK provides our own (non-subcontracted) professional, discreet, fully trained and competent collection service 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to all areas within the UK and Ireland. We can also arrange for collection services internationally via our own team or via approved ScreenSafe UK partners.

Using this service will guarantee impartiality and means that ScreenSafe UK can take complete responsibility for the sample(s) to ensure full legally defensible chain of custody.

Collection appointments are arranged and organised to meet your requirements wherever possible, ensuring peace of mind for you and your employee(s) or client(s). Immediate call-outs to attend For Cause / Just Cause testing are also available 24 hours a day / 365 days per year. Link Up (Rail supplier audit) contracts available on request.

Our experienced, qualified and competent collection officers will make sure that a legally defensible Chain of Custody is provided by:

  • Preparing the collection facilities to prevent adulteration of samples;
  • Checking and recording identity of the donor(s);
  • Collecting the correct quantity of hair, from the correct area, in the correct manner. It is very important to collect enough sample (in weight and length) or the accuracy of your results may be compromised and you may incur extra costs. If we do not do this correctly on your behalf, we will repeat it free of charge;
  • Collecting DNA, blood, urine, oral fluid/saliva, breath samples in a safe and considerate manner and testing it "on-site" where required (and possible) to do so;
  • Accurately completing and presenting all paperwork to support the sample correctly;
  • Splitting the sample(s) into an A and B sample(s) where laboratory analysis is required (Dual hair samples [A&B] can be taken on request);
  • Despatching the sample(s) to our laboratory services safely and on time using a traceable method for next working day where possible

It is vital to ensure that the collection process is 100% legally defensible. Incorrect collection or paperwork can be detrimental to the accuracy and validity of results. Where possible, we would always recommend the collection is carried out by professionally trained and competent persons.

We are sometimes asked to send sample collection kits to third parties (including agencies, GP's or surgeries). Although some are competent, in our experience this can often lead to long delays, incorrect sample collection and extra costs and time incurred due to flaws. Using ScreenSafe UK's collection services will allow you to get on with what you do best and not have to worry about this initial part of the process going wrong or being delayed.

ScreenSafe UK cannot be held responsible where 3rd party collections are delayed, inadequate or non-legally defensible.
